FNO Operations in Melbourne, AU:
The Melbourne division of Friday Night Originals started its operation from September, 2018. Deepank Sheth, who was already a part of FNO, in Kolkata, formed his own team with Australia based cinematographers Andrew Lee and Mading Jock, after moving to Melbourne to pursue his higher studies in Audio Engineering.
The whole idea of the audio-visual documentations in Melbourne was to promote the beauty of street-performances or 'busking' as it is popularly referred to as. Hence, the name of the segment was also coined as "FNO Melbourne Street Diaries". Working with buskers and street-performers also helps in discovering new musicians and singer-songwriters.
The broadcast of the first four episodes of FNO Melbourne Street Diaries were programmed on the first four Fridays of November 2018. It featured Charlotte Grace, Victoria Altern, Daniel Shaw and Simon Reich as its four featured artists and the episodes were shot in Alexandra Gardens and Bourke Street.
