Zeeshan Akhtar is a singer-songwriter/guitarist from Kolkata, who has been associated as the drummer of the popular fusion-rock band "Kaivalyaa" and the classic rock trio, "Pelican Shuffles".  In spite of having varied musical influences, Akhtar cuts his teeth to the electric blues of Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. But John Mayer is someone, who the multi-instrumentalist often considers to be a major reason for him to pick up the guitar and start to write songs. The likes of Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder cannot be missed while talking of his idols.

In 2013, Zeeshan Akhtar cut his debut EP All We Need is Love. Old friends Subid Khan (Guitars) and Rahul Ray (Bass) helped him record the four tracks on it. All We Need is Love was launched on the 18th of October, 2013 at Jamsteady (Princeton Club, Kolkata) where all the hundred copies were sold out that very night.

Zeeshan likes to collaborate with various other musicians across the city for his live shows in the name of "Zeeshan Akhtar Collective". Guitar players like Rhythm Shaw, Adil Rashid and Bodhisattwa Ghosh; drummers like Sourish Kumar and Gaurab Chatterjee and bass-players such as Bachospati Chakraborty, Sabyasachi Deb have all been a part of the Collective family.

At their FNO BlooperHouse Stories Session, Zeeshan Akhtar was accompanied by Bodhisattwa Ghosh on guitars, Gaurab Chatterjee on drums and Bachospati Chakraborty on the bass.
